India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has invited online applications for the engagement of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) from the Department of Posts to serve as Executives. This recruitment drive aims to strengthen IPPB’s outreach by leveraging the existing postal network for doorstep banking and financial inclusion. With 348 vacancies across multiple states, the engagement provides a unique opportunity for GDS personnel to transition into customer-facing roles that contribute directly to India’s digital banking revolution.
The engaged Executives will be responsible for driving sales, promoting IPPB’s financial products, assisting in lead generation, and ensuring smooth delivery of banking services. They will organize customer acquisition events, improve financial literacy among local populations, and coordinate closely with DoP Inspectors and Postmasters. Their duties will also include training other Gramin Dak Sevaks on IPPB products, supporting customer operations, and expanding IPPB’s reach through proactive fieldwork.
The Executives will play a vital role in acquiring new customers, maintaining long-term relationships, and ensuring consistent business generation. This includes developing local marketing campaigns, managing relationships with channel partners, and providing timely support to ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, Executives will act as a link between IPPB and its partner organizations to meet the bank’s business goals.
Applicants must be between 20 and 35 years of age as of 01.08.2025 and should possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university. No prior work experience is required for this role. Candidates should have a clean service record with no pending disciplinary or vigilance cases. The engagement is open only to those currently serving as GDS in the Department of Posts as on 01.08.2025.
The selection process will be based primarily on the percentage of marks obtained in the graduation degree. A merit list will be prepared outlet-wise, and in case of a tie, seniority within the Department of Posts will determine the ranking. If required, IPPB may also conduct an online test to finalize the selection. Candidates must ensure accurate declaration of their marks as rounding or incorrect conversions from CGPA to percentage will result in disqualification.
The tenure of engagement will initially be for one year, extendable up to two additional years based on satisfactory performance and business needs. The selected Executives will receive a fixed pay of ₹30,000 per month, inclusive of statutory deductions and contributions. Tax will be deducted as per applicable laws. In addition to the base pay, performance-based incentives and annual increments may be offered at the discretion of IPPB management.
No additional allowances or bonuses will be payable apart from the mentioned compensation. Leaves and service benefits will be governed by the existing GDS Conduct and Engagement Rules, 2020. The engagement period with IPPB will also count towards seniority and discharge benefits in the candidate’s parent GDS post.
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹750. Candidates must ensure eligibility before submitting the application, as the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. The online registration window will remain open from 09.10.2025 to 29.10.2025. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official IPPB website at www.ippbonline.com.
The total of 348 vacancies is distributed across various states and circles of India, including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and others. Selected candidates will be posted only at the banking outlet they have applied for, and transfers to other outlets will not be permitted during the engagement period. Candidates must apply for one vacancy only.
Selected Executives must maintain high standards of integrity and professionalism as per GDS Conduct and Engagement Rules. Misconduct, indiscipline, or submission of false information will lead to immediate disqualification or repatriation to the Department of Posts. The engagement will be monitored through periodic performance reviews conducted every six months. If a candidate fails to meet performance benchmarks in two consecutive reviews, the engagement may be terminated with one month’s notice.
This initiative by India Post Payments Bank serves as a crucial bridge between traditional postal services and modern digital banking. By empowering Gramin Dak Sevaks with financial and digital tools, IPPB aims to extend banking facilities to rural and semi-urban areas. The program supports the government’s vision of financial inclusion by enabling millions of citizens to access savings, remittance, insurance, and investment products at their doorstep.
The IPPB GDS Executive engagement is a significant opportunity for existing postal employees to enhance their career prospects while contributing to a nation-wide mission of inclusive banking. With structured roles, competitive pay, and the chance to make a measurable impact on local communities, this initiative symbolizes the modernization of India’s vast postal network. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early, ensure eligibility, and prepare to join one of the largest government-led financial inclusion programs in the country.
