Job Description – IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Fortune Global 500 Company and one of India’s largest Public Sector Undertakings, has released a notification for engagement of Trade Apprentices, Technician Apprentices, and Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This recruitment is conducted by IOCL (Marketing Division), Western Region, for its locations across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.

The apprenticeship is aimed at providing skill-based practical training to eligible ITI, Diploma, and Graduate candidates to enhance their employability and technical competence. The apprenticeship training period will be 12 months, during which apprentices will work under the supervision of experienced professionals in IOCL installations and offices.

Nature of Engagement

The engagement is purely on an apprenticeship basis and does not guarantee permanent employment with Indian Oil Corporation Limited after completion of training. Apprentices will be governed by the provisions of the Apprentices Act and related rules as amended from time to time.

Available Apprenticeship Categories

• Technician Apprentice (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics)

• Trade Apprentice (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist)

• Graduate Apprentice (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA – any discipline)

• Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Fresher & Skill Certificate Holders)

Selection Process

There will be no written test or interview for selection. The selection will be purely merit-based, prepared on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination for the respective discipline. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification followed by a pre-engagement medical fitness examination.

Stipend

Selected apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprentices Rules, as amended from time to time by the Government of India.

Candidates must be registered on the appropriate government portal:

• NAPS Portal for Trade Apprentices

• NATS Portal for Technician and Graduate Apprentices

Only candidates who meet the prescribed educational qualifications, age limits, and other eligibility criteria will be considered. Applicants are allowed to apply for only one discipline code.

Important Conditions

• The number of vacancies is tentative and may change.

• Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, and PwBD candidates will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

• Candidates must be medically fit as per IOCL standards.

Eligible candidates must apply online only through the NAPS or NATS portal between 15 January 2026 and 31 January 2026 (up to 5:00 PM). Applications submitted through any other mode or after the last date will not be accepted.
