Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has announced its Apprentice Recruitment 2025 under the Apprentices Act, 1961, inviting applications for 750 vacancies across India. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates seeking a career in the banking sector. The apprenticeship program will offer training, a monthly stipend, and a chance to work with one of India’s leading public sector banks.

Important Dates

Interested candidates can apply online from 10th August 2025 to 20th August 2025. The tentative date for the online examination is 24th August 2025. Candidates should ensure they complete the registration process within these dates, as late applications will not be accepted.

Post & Vacancies

The recruitment drive is for the post of Apprentice, with a total of 750 vacancies distributed across various states and union territories. State-wise reservation details are available in the official notification.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university. For those registered under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), the graduation result must have been declared between 01.04.2021 and 01.08.2025.

Age Limit: The age should be between 20 and 28 years for General and EWS categories. Age relaxation applies as follows: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years, and widows/divorced women – up to 35 years (UR/EWS), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST).

Application Fee

The application fee varies by category: PwBD – ₹472, Female/SC/ST – ₹708, and GEN/OBC/EWS – ₹944. Fees are inclusive of GST. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Stipend

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend depending on the branch category: Metro – ₹15,000, Urban – ₹12,000, Semi-Urban/Rural – ₹10,000. This includes the government’s subsidy contribution of ₹4,500.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on an online examination followed by a local language test and document verification. The exam will be objective type, consisting of four sections: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge, each with 25 questions. Candidates must secure minimum aggregate marks as decided by the bank.

Local Language Test

Candidates must be proficient in one of the local languages of the state for which they apply. Those who have studied the local language at the 10th or 12th level are exempted from this test.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online via the BFSI SSC portal (www.bfsissc.com) from 10.08.2025 to 20.08.2025. Candidates must also register on the NATS or NAPS portal before applying. Only one application per candidate is allowed, and the chosen state should preferably be the candidate’s home state.

Important Instructions

Candidates must read the notification carefully before applying. Incomplete applications will be rejected. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the selection process. The engagement is purely contractual, and apprentices are not entitled to regular employment in the bank after the training period.
