Indian Bank, one of the leading public sector banks in India, has announced the recruitment of 1500 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the financial year 2025-26. A composite time of 60 minutes will be allotted for the test. There will be negative marking of 1/4th mark for each incorrect answer.

Candidates who qualify the online test will be called for the local language proficiency test, unless they provide proof (like 10th or 12th standard mark sheet) of having studied the specified language. Only those candidates who are proficient in the local language of the state applied for will be selected for apprenticeship.

The stipend for the apprenticeship will vary based on the branch location. For Metro and Urban branches, apprentices will receive ₹15,000 per month, whereas for Rural and Semi-Urban branches, the stipend will be ₹12,000 per month. Out of this, a part will be contributed by the Bank and the remaining by the Government of India through the NATS portal.

Apprentices will be engaged for a period of 12 months. They will undergo on-the-job training and may be assigned various tasks related to banking functions under supervision. It is important to note that this engagement is purely on a temporary basis and does not guarantee any right to permanent employment in Indian Bank.

Candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria before applying. The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS candidates is ₹800 plus GST, and for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, it is ₹175 plus GST. The application window is open from 18.07.2025 to 07.08.2025, and candidates must complete their online registration and payment before the last date.

During the apprenticeship, apprentices are entitled to casual leave but are not eligible for other kinds of leave, allowances, or benefits. Any act of misconduct or unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination of the apprenticeship contract. Apprentices must maintain professional conduct and confidentiality throughout their engagement period.
