Job Description 

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has invited applications for the engagement of Apprentices for the financial year 2026–27.

This recruitment is being conducted under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended), and aims to provide one-year training to eligible candidates in various technical and non-technical disciplines.

A total of 41 apprentice vacancies are available across three categories: Diploma Apprentice, ITI Apprentice, and Graduate Apprentice. The disciplines include Computer Science, Information Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Office Management, Library Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, COPA, B.Sc (various science streams), B.Pharma, and Library Science at graduate level.

Candidates applying for these posts must have completed their qualification as regular students and should have passed in the year 2022 or later. Candidates who passed before 2022 or those having post-graduate qualifications are not eligible. Additionally, applicants who already have one year or more of work experience or apprenticeship training after obtaining the required qualification are also not eligible.

The selection process is purely merit-based, meaning candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage or marks obtained in their qualifying examination. There will be no written test or interview. A selection board formed by INMAS will review the applications and shortlist candidates according to available vacancies. Only selected candidates will be informed.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per category:

• Graduate Apprentice: ₹12,300 per month
• Diploma Apprentice: ₹10,900 per month
• ITI Apprentice: ₹9,600 per month

The duration of the apprenticeship training will be 12 months, starting from the date of execution of the apprenticeship contract. During this period, candidates will gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in their respective fields.

Interested candidates must register themselves on the official apprenticeship portal (NATS – www.mhrdnats.gov.in ) and ensure their profile is verified by the Regional Board. Candidates from technical or engineering backgrounds must apply through the INMAS establishment using the specified user ID on the portal.

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, and PWD candidates will be applicable as per government rules. Candidates must produce valid certificates issued by the competent authority during verification.

Applicants should note that this apprenticeship does not guarantee employment after completion of training. Also, no TA/DA, accommodation, or transport facilities will be provided during the training period.

Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying. Any false information or suppression of facts may lead to disqualification at any stage of the selection process. The institute reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment process without prior notice.
