Coal India Limited (CIL), a Government of India Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has released an official notification for the engagement of Industrial Trainees for the year 2025. This recruitment is specifically aimed at candidates who have successfully cleared the Intermediate Examination of Chartered Accountancy (CA) or Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA). A total of 125 Industrial Trainee positions are available across Coal India Limited headquarters and its various subsidiary companies located in different parts of India. This opportunity is designed to provide practical industrial exposure and professional training to finance and cost management students.

The company reserves the right to post trainees at any office or unit under its administrative jurisdiction, depending on organizational requirements.

The duration of training for Industrial Trainees is 15 months from the date of joining. During this period, trainees will receive a fixed monthly stipend of ₹22,000. No additional allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, or Traveling Allowance will be paid. The training period will not be extended under any circumstances, and completion of training does not provide any claim or entitlement for permanent or temporary employment with Coal India Limited or its subsidiaries.

To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must have passed the Intermediate Examination of Chartered Accountant conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Intermediate Examination of Cost and Management Accountant conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Candidates who have already undergone industrial training under a similar scheme in any other Public Sector Undertaking for a period of one year or more are not eligible to apply for this engagement.

The upper age limit for candidates belonging to the Unreserved and Economically Weaker Section categories is 28 years. For Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer, the upper age limit is 31 years, while for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, the upper age limit is 33 years. Persons with Disabilities are eligible for additional age relaxation as per Government of India norms. The crucial date for determining age and category status will be as specified in the official notification.

Coal India Limited follows the reservation policy of the Government of India. Reservation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, and PwD candidates. In addition to statutory reservations, preference is also given to landowners whose land has been acquired by Coal India Limited and to wards of existing employees, as defined in the recruitment notification. These preferences are intended to support key stakeholders of the organization.

The selection process for Industrial Trainees is purely merit-based. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in the Intermediate Examination of CA or CMA, considering the total marks of both groups. In case two or more candidates secure the same percentage, preference will be given to the candidate who is older in age. If the tie still continues, marks obtained in Class X will be considered to determine merit ranking.

Selected candidates will be required to arrange their own accommodation at the place of posting. However, if company-owned accommodation is available, it may be provided on a sharing basis without any rental charges. Medical facilities in the form of outpatient treatment may be available at company-run hospitals or dispensaries where such facilities exist. Interns must bring their own laptops for work, while basic office infrastructure will be provided by the organization.
